Hypatia
Hypatia was a woman who lived in Alexandria teaching math, astronomy, and philosophy. She created the astrolabe which is a calculator for astronomy. She also created the hydroscope which measures liquids’ gravity. She was killed because she was a pagan and talked about philosophy that the Christians didn’t.
